How Filipino families share income
Five charts from the same PSA survey. Every number is calculated from PSA's published tables.
What this can't show
- The very richest families. A 2017 study by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies found that the Family Income and Expenditure Survey struggles to capture wealthy households, so inequality is likely understated. The real gap at the very top is probably wider than these charts show (PIDS).
- Your exact rank. PSA surveys a sample of households and ranks families by income per person. This page adjusts your income for family size using PSA's own figures on how income varies with family size, so your result is an estimate.
- Whole provinces. The big cities PSA counts separately are left out of their provinces, so Cebu here means Cebu without Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City.
- Thin samples (†). Where PSA's survey had too few families to give steady figures, your result is compared with the region instead, and the place is marked † on the maps and lists.
